LOL! Freep families avoiding my Dem home on Halloween!
I've got a whole forest of Democrat candidate signs on the front lawn-two for Kerry plus two Kerry signs in the windows. The kids from the repug households are being pulled past my cheerfully (and tastefully, I might add) Halloween/ Autumn/ pro-Dem decorated craftsman cottage. Other children are adding "Oh, and my mom loves your signs"! after they thank me for the candy.:-)

A lot of African American parents are driving their kids from the rough side of town to my neighborhood. These children rarely have costumes, but I always give them twice as much candy. This year they get THREE times as much because the Freeper children haven't stopped by!(Freep kids are missing some good stuff-Reese's cups, Kit Kats, Hershey bars-and not the tiny ones, either)! :D

9. I'd love to share, but I don't want to get egged by lurkers!
I live in the historic district of Orlando, which has very distinctive architecture. My house would be too easy to identify.

The BEST part is that in 2000, only one other person on my street had a Gore sign. This year there are two * signs, and eleven for Kerry! :bounce:

5. We had a kid with a bush mask
My 11 year old told him it was the scariest costume he'd seen all night. The kid didn't get it, too funny.

6. My neighborhood is so ornery, that new kids only Halloween in our
community in their first year of residence. After that, we don't see them again. We'd like to believe that it's because there are better & bigger child-friendly neighborhoods nearby.

12. Is it a newer development, or just an area
with a lot of transient home owners?

20. It is an old residential area which was developed in different phases.
The older residents live in the original concept of the Association which is very different from what the Association looks like today. Different developers and different concepts. So many different personalities, that there is no common ground, figuratively speaking. But not literally. The older residents felt that they had ownership over common grounds because they were here first. Some of the things they did were criminal, but how do you take action against an 80 year old? At Association meetings, mean things were said about children in the neighborhood and they are continually harassed by those older residents.

Our Association is a land of riches, but no one can play on those lands because you have to go through some cantankerous old people to get there.

There is no hope to change anything. I'm sure things will get worse, before they get better.

10. Good for you.
The idea of the African American kids getting 3 times as much candy really ought to burn any freepers who might read this. Good show.

Let the freepers eat cake.

11. Puke kids should be forced to earn their own candy
...and not go asking for handouts, right?

14. More candy for the cool kids!
I feel bad for the kids who can't afford costumes. I'm glad they're getting out trick-or-treating, and especially glad they're going to your house.

(Or Halle Berry, Tyra Banks, P. Diddy, etc.) They always smile. :-)

21. I was out last night, and when I came home, one of my Kerry yard signs
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 07:22 AM by Misunderestimator
was a bit mangled. Couldn't have been just a kid tripping over it... they had completely bent the wires on the frame so that the sign was facing downward. ...f*cking freep kids.

On edit... so cool of you to be so generous to the ones that did come. :yourock:
