2. I never saw Some Other Crap He Was In
:)
I enjoyed Dances with Wolves. The War was one I found interesting when I was younger, haven't seen it in ages but a song I remember from it is "Who'll Stop the Rain"

But that's mostly because of Connery and DeNiro.

35. Yes -- also "Bull Durham," -- IMO, the best baseball movie made to date...
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 03:39 AM by rezmutt
Mature, funny script really gives an idea of the unglamourous life in the minor leagues.

Plus, it's got Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins -- two favorites.

18. What happened?
I don't like Costner anyway, but am curious.
He's way too conservative for my tastes, and too stuck on himself.

What an asshole! praising Nader, dising Kerry & Bush, asked if he was going to vote he said no. Now if he likes Nader thats one thing, but her was spewing bullshit & even defended Ann Coulter! If he likes Nader so damn much why doesn't he vote for him?

34. He has supported Kerry with the maximum $2000 donation this year...
And Al Gore before that. But, I agree, he does sound naive and comes off as an utterly newbie to the field of politics as its currently played.

He is friendly with Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, and came to their defense last year when the Baseball Hall of Fame cancelled their appearance specifically because of their liberal political beliefs.

20. No Way Out
No Way Out is a great movie. Kevin Costner went backwards. Most actors improve and grow with time. Somehow, as time passed his acting got worse. Some of his early films were really good. The last movie I saw him in was Dragonfly. What drek.

OK it's not a movie, but it informs the wishy-washy performances of this actor. He's an idealist that can't make up his mind.

Tin Cup wasn't bad either but other than that he's been all downhill. Of course, Cheech made Tin Cup better than it would have been otherwise.

He was good in "Tin Cup" because he played off Cheech so well.

to learn to speak with a british accent it ruined the whole movie. Waterworld sucked as well.

33. "Open Range." Had a pretty authentic feel to it, and Costner was good...
both as actor and director. In this picture, Costner finally seems to have lost the dumb surfer accent that has plagued him. He and Robert Duvall have some excellent scenes together, and the gunfights are extremely realistic -- loud, confusing, most shots going off-target, etc.

Highly recommended.

38. "No Way Out" and "JFK" are not exactly "Some Other Crap,"

and in fact I like them both better than "Dances with Wolves." I will admit that I never saw "Dances" in a theater and that could make a big difference.

I saw "Waterworld" and "Forrest Gump" on transatlantic flights and that made both of them "interesting" experiences. I have a bad habit of dozing off listening to French "radio" on the headset and waking up to see Tom Hanks saying "La vie est une boxe du chocolats" -- aak! I think the cast of "Waterworld" was just saying "Glub. Le glub, glub," but it was a few years ago.
