Clouds Taste Metallic really shows how far the Flaming Lips have come

I got my intro to the Lips with The Soft Bulletin. Almost immediately after I got that album, I bought Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. About three months later (two days ago), I went out on a limb and bought Clouds Taste Metallic. (I haven't bought Zaireeka yet because I would miss out... can only play from 3 sources at a time).

Um, wow. They were really ... different before The Soft Bulletin. It's not like they were awful, but man... it's like an acid trip and an electric light show wrapped into a CD.

I also dig the Lips though, they rock, sort of.
