Some jerk assaulted my 14 year old on Halloween |
|
night. Tried to steal her candy and pushed her down. He hit a girl who was with her in the face. She was with a group of 6 kids but the 3 boys went up the street to go home and she and 3 girls were just a few minutes from home.
She's alright, messed up knee. More pissed then anything. I guess she learned something tonight but even I didn't think people now attack each other for candy.

in a scream mask. Probably around her age but dressed all in black.
I hope to hell it wasn't an adult. Never could find him.

I'm so sorry!!! What is wrong with people? At least he just wanted the candy, I guess, and pretty much left the girls alone. Is the one who got hit okay? I swear, some people are so insane!!

after I heard the girls out and calmed them down I told them, you know sometimes having "old" people around isn't always a bad thing. They think they are so worldly. However , I do look at it as she learned something tonight. Even middle class America, you can be a victim.
Thanks for asking.

16. 14 is just too old to trick or treat |
|
My Dad stopped me and my brothers all at 12. After that we had Halloween parties in our garage with our friends. I still won't give candy to anyone well into puberty. If you can shave your face or legs, you're too old.

9. A similar think happened 3 minutes ago on my street |
|
I heard a lot of screaming from my back yard. I went to the front yard through the side gate and saw three girls near my driveway and four boys running down the street to the right. I asked what was going on and the three girls just said the boys beat up a little kid and stole his hallowe-en candy. I asked where the little kid was and they said one of their friends took him home. I chased after the boys and bellowed at them to stop and come here. They ignored me. I kept holloring at the and said if they didn't come over to me they'd be in big shit trouble. They denied everything and said it was all just joking around. I told them beating up on a little kid and stealing his hollowe'en candy is no joke, and they should be ashamed of themselves. They kept lying and I hollored at them: "Don't you dare lie to me again. Get the hell of this street. I'm going to be watching for you the rest of the night, and if I see any of you on this street I'm calling the cops and having you arrested. How'd you like to spend Hallowe'en night in jail?" That really cowed the hell out of them and they scampered away with their tails between their legs. As they were leaving, I told them "Hollowe'en is supposed to fun for little kids. Don't ruin it for them."
I don't think they'll be around again, and perhaps they'll think twice before bullying littler kids again. After the verbal dressing down I gave them they all had that Bush-deer-in-the-headlights-on 9/11 look on their faces.

10. From your description of the events, |
|
your daughter and the three girls she was with should be able to identify the boys and where they live. If I were in your shoes I wouldn't hesitate contacting the kids' parents about your complaint, and pressing criminal charges. If that doesn't work, sue the parents of the bullies on behalf of your daughter for negligent supervision of their brats and for personal injury (the "messed up knee" and emotional distress).
It's the parents' fault and responsibility. These things perpetuate themselves in our society when victims and parents of victims don't stand up for their rights and teach the freeptards a lesson.

But i took my 4 year old tonight, in the rain. We were gone for, maybe 25 minutes, and it was still early. We left the bowl outside our door for the kids to get stuff from, and it was FULL. We went around the block, and all we saw were a few groups, many seemed young, and with no adults along. when we got back the bowl was empty, save for 5 pieces in the bowl, and maybe 5 on the ground around the chair it was sitting on. If every kid we saw took huge handfulls, the bowl should have been half empty at best. It's sad to see so many kids out by themselves, and even sadder to see that they've learned to be so greedy <we're in Ks., god's country>

14. The Boy's didn't walk her home? |
|
Damn, I always do that when I go out with friends and there's girls he need to go home. Simply because if something like this happened (or far worse if you catch my drift) I wouldn't be able to live with myself.

17. Bag snatching is just mean |
|
the kids who did this when i was in jr high where the school bullies. There is nothing new about bag snatching it's been going on forever but it's still mean. You should probably host a halloween party for your daughter and her friends next year, she is a bit too old to be trick or treating
