Per P#6's request, here is a pic of my snuggly, lovable little....
baby bearded dragon, Geo. Isn't he just precious!

He is a sweetie...loves to be held, when he isn't eating his way through fifty baby crickets a day. :loveya:

7. so I'm not the only one with one...
I LOVE bearded dragons!!!! absolutely love them!!! I had one for 6 years and he was just as you described yours. He loved to sit in my hand for long periods of time and run around on the floor of my room. He had such a wonderful personality.
My second one had a very mean spirited personality. He definitely did not like to be held and letting him run around outside his cage was a big no-no. Unfortunately I had to sell him back to a breeder as being at school doesn't lend to taking care of a high maintenence lizard very well. :-(

8. Did yours have as voracious an appetite as mine?
We are going through the crickets like crazy. He doesn't like his salad as much as he does like crickets.

I have an iguana, too. Sid (that's him in my avatar) doesn't like to be held. He has a hellish temper...doesn't like to even have me put my hand in the cage to feed him.

9. yeah, they couldn't get enough of them
my first one loved salad and I even got him to take lettuce out of my hands!! hehe, he would even take crickets which were sitting on my finger without bitting me! I miss him so much!!

my second one, not so much, He did have a hellish temper, and he took frequent bites at my hand. He was much smarter though. He would be in his cage and follow me around the room. He also knew that me opening the cage meant food and he knew EXACTLY where I dumped the crickets and would climb his climbing thing and wait expectantly for his food.

10. Mine is eating crickets and grapes from my fingertips...
He's such a good baby. :-)

Did you feed yours crickets until they were full? How did you do it? Did you dump a bunch of crickets in the cage, and leave them in there if he didn't eat them all?

I put about ten at a time in the cage, and he eats them, then another ten, then another ten, and sometimes he will quite eating with several crickets still running around.

I am just worried that I will over feed him if he has crickets in the cage all the time with him.

11. I never really fed them more than 2 dozen crickets a day
that would be really pushing it. I usually put them all in at one time and then watch him go crazy hunting them around the cage. Sometimes a few would hide in his climbing thing or behind the water dish, so he would feed on them whenever they got stupid and left their hiding place. I loved watching them stalk the crickets. They would make very slow, deliberate, almost human-like moves towards the unsuspecting cricket and go for the sudden kill!

12. I am buying the tiny baby crickets...
I honestly think he could eat the larger crickets...It would be less expensive, that's for sure!

Yes, I love watching him hunt. Poor little crickets never know what's hitting them.

13. yeah...
I mainly bought the baby crickets, but as my first one got older and bigger, i moved to the larger crickets and he was definitely satisfied with a smaller number of them. My second one seemed to have some trouble with the big oness, so I mainly stuck with the baby ones.
