What music was playing when you lost your virginity? |
|
This was the official poll question Saturday night after I had my first ever Irish Car Bomb (and then my second and then my third).
Sadly, in my case, Steve Miller Band's Greatest Hits. Then Al Stewart's Year of the Cat album.

As it was in the Gillow Hotel on the corner of Cinco de Mayo and Isabela la Catolica in Mexico City with another member of the group from my college that was in Mexico to take a Spanish class - a very cute Mexican-American lady.
6th floor. Room 18. :)
Nice hotel too. If you ever go to Mexico City, stay there. It's close to the Zocalo, and if you go two blocks north and then turn right, you'll find a nice bakery on the south side of the street.
What else do I remember... heheheheheh.

And pretty much the whole "Starfish" album, for that matter. It was only a year old at the time, but it was already a classic.
BTW "Year of the Cat" is not too bad an album to have playing whilst creating the beast with two backs-- quite moody, atmospheric, and inspired in spots. However I will not comment on Steve Miller's Greatest Hits. Bloody ex-Hippies....
