Poll question: When you say you "google [something]"
Do you actually use google?

I don't.

I don't know when it became the golden standard of search engines, but it still isn't mine!

And yet, I am stuck using that phrase... what else can I say, "I'm yahooing it?" I don't think so.

4. I used to love Yahoo
but I'm tried and true google girl now. My favorite part is the "cached" button, it highlights the search terms for you :-)

5. it's like saying: give me a kleenex, or I'm going to xerox that article...
or put it in the dumpster.... or I have velcro on my sneakers. These are all brand names that are now used generically. Google is now the generic name for "search on the web for it." Nice cultural coup for them!

6. I also love the caching of pages
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 10:46 AM by Goldom
Though yahoo has stolen it now as well. Makes getting pages that don't exist anymore so easy.

Unfortunately, my biggest hate towards Google, and unfortunately now Yahoo as well, "Similar results have been ommitted, click here to see them all".. or however it says it. You go through 5 pages of results, and then see there's more, and now they're 8 pages. But they aren't just all at the end, they're dispersed throughout, so now you have to look through everything again. Blah.

(wait, dumpster is a brand name?)

10. I've used yahoo since I first found the net, back in 1997
sometimes I use google because its in my earthlink search bar, but it usually just pisses me off because I can't find what I want with it. I guess I just have a karma with yahoo!
