2. Please don't vote straight ticket using the check box...vote every race |
|

That way you'll confirm your choices as you go.
Besides, IMO straight-ticket voting is anti-Democracy. Expend the minimal effort to at least pretend like you're giving every race due consideration. What if the Democrat is a complete goof? Better not to vote that race, or maybe the Republican is a palatable alternative (it COULD happen!)
OR, if there are races where there is no Dem running (and there are a lot in TExas) using the straight-ticket button will prevent you from voting against the Republican via Libertarian or other third-party choices.

8. Sorry but you are incorrect |
|
You can check straight-ticket Democrat and still vote for 3rd party candidates in specific races where there is no Dem running. I know because I have done so the last 3 elections here in Travis County.

9. Thanks VelmaD - my mistake |
|
I've never done the straight ticket thing because it offends my own personal sensibilities.
Not that there's anything WRONG with it, just my own thang. Thanks for setting me straight.

5. I voted a straight ticket |
|
and had no problems, after you vote your selections come up BEFORE it says cast ballot. My machine had no trouble, although I did infact see this story, hopefully they have fixed the problems!

7. wow.. this is my county |
|
and I know people who have voted a straight ticket. This really pisses me off. Personally, I never vote a straight ticket. I find it far more satisfying to check off each Democrat one at a time. Plus there were several races where no Democrat was running. :( My sister voted a straight ticket. I'm not sure whether to show her this or not. She will lost it if she thinks she voted for bush.

10. I voted straight-Democrat ticket in Harris County, |
|
but I carefully checked to make sure that all the Democrat candidates were selected before I hit "Enter" and finalized my vote.
