Poll question: Do You Work With More Democrats Or Republicans?
DISCUSSION: Are you closeted about being liberal? Or are you out and proud? Or... are your Republican colleagues closeted because they are outnumbered?

8. I finally got a programming job
For a small web design company after a year of being laid off with 360 other people from my last programming job. There's the owner who's the marketing/deal-maker, the designer, and me, the database/HTML/Javascript guy who puts it all together. The other two are republicans, but they have good senses of humor - they found the W. flipping the bird video funny, and today, the boss admitted that "my boy" is probably going to win and was a good sport about it.

9. Dems!
Which is amazing for 2 reasons. 1) I live in Nebraska and 2) My office specializes on agricultural issues. I don't know the party affiliation of all of my co-workers, but from what I know, my office is 4:1 Democrat.

15. Mostly pubs. I'm pretty much out -- call myself a liberal, etc.
But we don't discuss politics at work generally. For one thing, there's too damn much actual work. Guess it's job security.

20. I'm Surrounded By Republicans
I work for a major defense contractor in Colorado Springs, a virtual cesspool of conservatism. I've got the only vehicle in the company parking lot with Democratic bumper stickers on it.

...about who the Dems will nominate in 2008. I felt like saying "John Kerry will be running for his second term then", but didn't because I don't want to piss off the people I have to work with tomorrow....

26. I regularly piss off the people I work with...
Somehow they think they're pissing me off... must be confidence in numbers, so I get away with it, 'cause they think I'M the underdog. I've already projected out for them that Kerry will be president through 2012, then Edwards to 2020, then Barack Obama...

21. I work in state gov't-- almost all union, mostly Dems
I work in a human services agency, so most of our people tend to be of the bleeding-heart liberal persuasion anyway.

However, my boss says he's voting for Dubya. Why? Because, he says if Dubya's (re)elected, then he might appoint our state's governor Secretary of Health and Human Services-- which would get his annoying budget-cutting penny-pinching @$$ out of our hair two years early.

When he put it that way, it almost made sense.

Hey -- it's a college.
We live for open, intelligent, diverse discussion.

Plus, I'm in Vermont. We live for being liberal.
The state that...
•opted for civil unions
•freed all slaves in 1777
•declared war on Hitler BEFORE the U.S. Congress did
and
•the only state in the USA where there is NO McDonald's in the state capital.

And we have 3 bonafide political heroes leading the charge:
Leahy, Sanders, and the courageous Jim Jeffords.

Of course -- the man who brought all of us out of the darkness, and gave us the will to fight this * scourge: HOWARD DEAN.

So.... I guess the answer is... LOTS O'LIBERALS and we are all out of the closet and proud!!!!

Kerry On!

with the exception of about two or three people. It's a law firm too, go figure. Don't they know "trial lawyers" are ruining America according to *?

But I'm not shy about my politcal beliefs. I don't rub it in anyone's face, but if they ask, I'll tell them exactly how I feel.

28. Not quite sure
I work in a rural food processing plant where the majority of the people are paid a low, but living wage. I am out and proud about being a Democrat. There are several people who have also revealed to me that they are voting for John Kerry, some of which are committed Democrats while others just hate Bush. There have been some anti Bush emails out at the tables at work. Despite this, I actually think that many of the silent ones are Bush supporters. This is a conservative area. People, where I work, tend to be cowards. They know that I am informed and intelligent and don't want to debate with me.
