Extremely bold NFL prediction!
Edited on Sun Sep-14-03 02:46 PM by Resistance
The Tampa Bay Bucs will join the 1972 Miami Dolphins as being the only teams to have an UNDEFEATED SEASON.

And I say this not even as a Bucs fan. But take a look at their schedule this year:

Carolina
@Atlanta
BYE
Indianapolis
@Washington
@San Francisco
Dallas
New Orleans
@Carolina
Green Bay
N.Y. Giants
@Jacksonville
@New Orleans
Houston
Atlanta
@Tennessee

Who is going to beat them? They have an extremely favorable schedule - and they even get Atlanta in Atlanta when Vick is still out. Will Washington beat them? Umm nope. San Fran? Umm no, although this might be their only real test until later in the season. Green Bay? Nope, not in Tampa. The Giants? Outside shot, but again, it's in Tampa, and the Giants won't be able to run Tiki, or pass the ball (who can pass against the Bucs?) The best shot any team has, I think is Tennessee - that game is in Tennessee and if Tampa is 15-0 at that point, you know the Titans will be up for that game. In the end though, I don't see it.

Tampa is going undefeated. This defense of theirs is one of the best I have ever seen. They fly to the football, and are in the QB's face nearly every down. And they now have this coach who is probably the best in the NFL now, too. Gruden is the master of the game, studying film way before anyone else is. I heard Brad Johnson saying that before each game, Gruden's got this long list of things to watch out for from the opposing defense, and he said that so much of it turns out to be true.

Of course they will take home-field advantage, and then who will challenge? Maybe the Rams, if they can get themselves together. There's been kind of a nice rivalry going between the Rams and the Bucs in recent seasons, and, like I say - if the Rams can get it going, they could challenge. Also, I think maybe the Vikings, if they look as for real this year as they looked in Week 1 in Green Bay. The Vikings also know the Bucs well from playing twice a year in the old NFC Central. But I still don't even see that.

Tampa goes to the Super Bowl, and they will win again, becoming the only team to ever go 19-0 on the season.

That game aganist BYE is going to be pretty tough too. I've never heard of a team winning on the BYE day.

12. Not a chance in Hell
What you're implying is that the Buc's are or were as good as the 72 Phins... They're not even close.

Nahhh..the bucs will go 12 and 4... Parity in the NFL is real...

Perhaps you should wait until tuesday before you make extremely bold predictions.

I'm not saying they will lose but this was my upset pick of the week.

20. Wow!!!
Tampa just scored on the last possession. Johnson threw a TD pass to McCardell. Then Grammatica had his extra point blocked. The game's now in OT, tied at 9-9. 3rd time a TB kick has been blocked today.

44. Just remember
If Babe Ruth hadn't called his shot that one time, nobody would have cared that he hit that home run.

Of course, if he had called the shot and hadn't hit the homer, nobody would've cared either. But hey, you bet big and you either win or lose big.

Another prediction of perfection gone by the wayside. Looking past opponents in the NFL is not wise, as Miami found out last week.
