I just scared a black bear out of my driveway

Right here in the middle of the city!

I heard leaves rustling out back and thought one of the cats wanted in. I leaned out over the deck rail and sure enough, there's a bear in my driveway, sniffing around.

I said, "Hey bear." He looked up, grunted, and started down the street, looking back occasionally.

Gawd, I love living in Asheville!

We hear a lot of noises down by the Swannanoa at night... and my neighbors up the hill have them as well. You may be near me... :-)

Its not good to let your cats go outside. They can get hurt, kill little critters, etc. Are they "belled?"
