The parental units, who live in Amish country, occasionally send me out some pies.

4. go for it
it's fairly easy, as long as you can make a decent home-made crust.

For those who don't know, it's basically a molasses pie with a crumb top. It may not sound great, but I grew up with it and LOVE it.
