What will be your celebratory song if Kerry wins??
I haven't picked just one, but (and don't smack me for this one!) the beat in that song "Move Ya Body" by Nina Sky pumps me up and keeps me optimistic. LOL.

What will be your celebratory/theme song if Kerry wins??

and the rest of that CD by IZ.

You guys from Hawaii should know this artist and his work. (He died too soon.)

17. Be sure to pick the version
that Leonard Bernstein conducted not long after the Berlin wall came down. They replaced "joy" with "freedom".

BTW, "Ode to Joy" now is the hymn of the European Union.

18. Yeah, I knew that...
didn't it become the official EU anthem back around 2000?

22. From Wikipedia:
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 06:31 AM by ze_dscherman
The Ode to Joy was adopted as Europe's anthem by the Council of Europe in 1972, with an official arrangement for orchestra written by Herbert von Karajan.

In 2003, the European Union chose Beethoven's music for the poem as the EU anthem, without German lyrics, because of the many different languages used within the European Union. Therefore, the EU anthem is in effect the Beethoven theme (or melody) rather than Schiller's poem, although its connection with the ideal of human brotherhood in the text is understood.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ode_to_Joy

This is wrong in one aspect: according to the EU website it was chosen in 1985.

9. Without a doubt, Mosh is my pick!
I've never been a big rap fan, some of it is fine, but Eminem's "Mosh" will be my celebratory song following a Kerry/Edwards victory!

10. Wonderful World
by Eva Cassidy, or maybe another one of her songs called something like, "I just can't keep from singin'". I can't remember the exact words, (having been up since 3:45), but it's a great song for rejoicing!!!

Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 07:51 AM by Seabiscuit
I've heard so many versions of "At Last" and Eva Cassidy's version is head and shoulders above the rest. LOVE that song. That's what I'll be playing when the final bitter fight is all over.

11. im NO springsteen fan
but when he played "the promised land" at the kerry rally here in miami it was very emotional, especially because after each chorus of i believe in the promised land, it went to just guitar and harmonica and all of the people really cheering....then he talked a real good bit about what has gone wrong with his american dream, really from the heart...and then he played "no surrender" before he introduced kerry.

so for me these will always now be the songs of this campaign..

"I believe in the Promised Land"

and

"We made a promise we swore we'd always remember
No retreat no surrender
Like soldiers in the winter's night with a vow to defend
No retreat no surrender"

getting to me now just recalling it.

20. MOSH!!!
Come along follow me as I lead through the darkness
As I provide just enough spark that we need to proceed
Carry on, give me hope, give me strength
Come with me and I won't steer you wrong
Put your faith and your trust as I guide us through the fog
To the light at the end of the tunnel
We gonna fight, we gonna charge, we gonna stomp, we gonna march
Through the swamp, we gonna mosh through the marsh
Take us right through the doors (c'mon)
