if you bought a shirt online from a band you liked and then got it and it had a line from one of their songs "This is your last dance fuck standing still" on the back (which you were unaware of before), what would you do? Still wear it?

I only ask this because my mom whined about me wearing that shirt while I was at home, now note that I would've bought it anyway had i known what was on the back (no one ever complains at school or any of the places i hang out), but it's not my fault.

1. I would wear another shirt such as an oxford or a jacket

so that the phrase on the back is always covered.

2. I would wad it up into a very small ball

and tape it to my forehead, using lots of duct tape.

It says a lot to me about today's culture (notice I didn't say "youth") that no one at school or where you hang complains about it. I guess I wouldn't complain about it, but I wouldn't think too much of someone I saw wearing it. Sounds like you've worn it, so you can't return it. Ditch it. You're sending a message I really don't think you want to send.

OK, I'm a geezer, but if my daughter had worn something like that (frankly unimaginable to me) we would have sat down and had a serious little chat. I'd be wondering what I had missed and how I had neglected her that she would think it was OK to wear it in front of me, or her mom, let alone in public.

4. it's not large print

she didn't notice it until about 5 weeks after i got home. i'm not the only person at school wearing shirts with swearing on them, so i doubt it sends a negative to too many people here. besides, how does it send a bad message when i'm wearing it at a punk show?
