I was almost confronted this morning at the polls
I vote in a small precinct, where usually the poll workers are bored. This morning there was a line and I was number 62 (I voted about 7:30, so this was really good) and there were 10 behind me. When I came outside, a guy was standing by my car with an ugly face, looking at my bumper stickers. When he saw me and realized that I was an older woman with grey temples, he went to his truck, that sported W04 stickers and one for Matt Blunt, Missouri's Republican candidate for governor.

If I had been a guy, I'd probably have been yelled at or gotten into a fight.

Is this how it is going to be all day???

3. In some places, probably
Most of the bumper stickers in my precinct were for Frost & Kerry/Edwards.

Yay!

4. That guy better get used to it.
There are more of you out there - and there is not much he can do about it.
But be careful all the same.

5. Maybe his face will freeze like that
...at least that's what my Mama used to say about making ugly faces.

7. In South Carolina
I was told to remove my "Veterans for Kerry" button while waiting in line. In all my years of voting in SC (since 1976) I have seen numerous people wearing buttons for specific candidates and never were they asked to remove them.

I fear that if the repukes win, fascism and intimidation will become even more prevalent in this country.

Go Kerry!

10. It was very civil, and extremely busy, in Derry, NH
I stood there with a sign for a couple of hours after voting. The look I recognized on most of the voters was grim resolve. LOTS of people holding Kerry signs, easily five times more than holding Rethug signs.
