A Repug ex-friend of mine sounds wistful today.
Not about the election, but about the day.

On a private forum we both frequent he made a comment that "Now maybe I can re-establish some friendships that seem to have been lost over the last month or two."

He doesn't realize that I and a few other folks aren't associating with him anymore because he has shown his true colors. He has been a vocal * supporter, belligerent and insulting at every turn as he regurgitated Rush/Hannity/Faux talking points for the last 4 years. He thinks that I and many of my friends are just obsessed with the election and that tomorrow everyone will be nice to him again.

He misses the point that his radical, selfish, ugly beliefs have made him an outcast among his friends. He's living in a fantasy world. But I guess that is a prerequisite for any * supporter.

3. Unfortunately, I don't think so.
He's been spewing his hate nonstop, right up to the last day. He just wants the election to pass so we can go back to talking about non-political things again.

Regardless of what other diversions he and I have in common, I now know he is part of the problem in this country, and not someone I want to associate with.

2. There was a fellow in our office a few years ago...
...who was a RABID Clinton-hater. I could barely tolerate him about most things, but this was really beyond the pale. However, I still had to work with him from time to time, and as long I avoided politics (something he never did), we managed to get along OK.

Two years ago his job was eliminated, and for months I tried using the few connections I had to try and locate something for him, but to no avail.

With this current election, however, I remember a lot of the stupid, hurtful, and just plain moronic things that would burp out of his mouth on the slightest pretense.

F*ck 'im.
