Waiting with some friends for the TV election coverage to begin We're all going to a bar in an hour or so to watch more election coverage and get drunk. It'll be great! :D

On edit: I know how to spell . . . really!

12. Never tried it actually
I'll note it down and try it next time I'm in the states . . . assuming it's available on the west coast.

9. I'm not usually a fan
but I haven't had a beer in 2 weeks and it's election night, so anything goes! And i'm in the netherlands, so it's normal. Belgian beer is my favorite, but German beer is number two. A really good Oude Geuze beats weizenbier . . . sorry!

6. Why aren't you drinking decent beer?
Pilsner Urquell is a good, clean, pilsner. Light-years better than that frat-boy swill.

13. Again, a beer I haven't tried
I just became of legal age over here (the netherlands) so i've only had a limited number of american beers. I'll put it on my list.

18. It's not an American beer -- it's Czech
Which is pretty much why it doesn't suck.

Most mass-produced American beers are swill. Why drink them when you can drink the liquid gold that is Belgian beer (I reccomend Leffe Blonde), probably for a lot cheaper than I can?

If you want to drink a good American beer, you need a micro-brew. Probably not easy to get a hold of in Europe.

20. Ahhh, OK. I've tried Budvar. Very nice.
I'll add the other to my list. I'm pretty well versed in European beers by now, I didn't get the chance to drink much beer in the states. Oh and I prefer the dark Leffe myself. :D

23. Y'see, this is what I'm talking about...
Up until now, I wasn't even aware of the existence of dark Leffe, 'cos it seems only the blonde is imported here. And it's pricey, at that.

If you ever come to New England, please try any beer from a brewery called Magic Hat. I especially reccomend their Humble Patience (a dark red ale) and Magic Hat #9 (which is flavoured with apricot). You also might want to try Ommegang (from Brewery Ommegang, Cooperstown, NY) although you might think it's just a cheap imitation of Chimay Grand Reserve.

And if you ever have the chance to visit Western Canada, try Big Rock Traditional Ale. Or Warthog. Or pretty much anything Big Rock brews, it's all good.

27. bah
Sorry, until about last year I'd have agreed with you, but not anymore. Since the takeovers neither Pilsner nor Budweiser are worth drinking - tasteless, characterless, boring. Well, maybe I just had a bad batch, but I don't think so.

Have the number of a taxi cab company ready if you don't have a sober driver. Here's to ya and to everybody getting out there to make a Kerry presidency a reality. :toast:

I VOTED!

8. I agree.
I banged down the door at 7am and voted! I closed my business and have been holding a Kerry sign all day. I pissed off (what I am hoping is only) half of my customer base.

I am now getting plastered, watching "The Italian Job" and going to bed. With any luck, I will wake up tomorrow to the America I once remembered, and the past 4 years would have just been a nightmare.

I quit for 6 months, but I enjoy smoking so much I started again when I came back to europe. It's my new years resolution to quit, and I think i'm going to manage this time. ;)
