That would be Three Dog Night for me. "Eli's Coming" is still one of my favorites from back in college. As for the rest of TDN's stuff, *especially* 'Joy to the World', :puke:

Others????

1. Eagles' "Take It To The Limit"...
I really really really hate The Eagles, but I love everything about this song- Meisner's voice, the melody, lyrics, orchestration. I honestly think this is one of the best singles ever.

11. Good choice
That one actually makes me sad - a lot of newer rock has that intention, but falls flat.

3. Queensryche: "Silent Lucidity"
It's magical. But I've heard their other stuff, and meh. And, they opened up for Metallica when I saw them, and they stunk on ice.

I think that's the title of their first hit. "Alone Enough", right????

7. Oh yeah, Stevie Wonder, "Living for the City".
The rest of his material sets my teeth on edge.

9. Ever listened to Stevie's stuff from the early 70s? It's brilliant!
"Signed, Sealed, Delivered"
"Superstition"
"Uptight"

Just to name a few...

8. Motley Crue's "Kickstart My Heart"
I love that song! It's a great hard rock song. The rest of their crap is such poppy drivel.

10. "Big Bang Baby" by Stone Temple Pilots
I can't stand most of their 'grunge' stuff, but "BBB" is a great garage-rock tune, worthy of their Pacific NW beginnings.

the rest of their "catalog" can eat the corn out of my turds.

15. Best artist ever
At least IMO.

Back to the topic - I like Hilary Duff's "Come Clean." I could list more if you didn't put that you hate all the other songs.

13. I thought of a couple that the opposite is true
Bands that I like quite a bit but don't care for their biggest hit (in both of these cases, their "breakthroughs" as well):

I like both Third Eye Blind and Coldplay but have a fairly strong dislike of both "Semi-Charmed Life" and "Yellow", which I guess is kinda weird.

As for the initial topic, I like to much by almost every band for this to be the case. However, AC-DC comes to mind; I like "Back in Black" but don't care for much else by them. (Actually, I do kinda like "Highway to Hell", so I'm already screwing up. haha)

I do love Three Dog Night, though at the same time I believe "Joy to the World" to be one of the most overplayed songs of all time.

16. The Hollies - Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress
It must suck to have your biggest hit be completely different from the rest of your music.
