He fought the best fight he could. Not his fault this "Fast Food Nation" of "Nascar Dads" is too fucking stupid to realize what they threw away.

Not so sure I'm gonna keep the gear, though. I'm not the LEAST interested in being a "Radio First Responder" for Tommy Timbertoes and the grand ol' ARRL, and besides you, I can't think of anyone I'd work who wouldn't raise my BP 35 points...That's a lot of money tied up in that stuff, and I sure as shit can't eat an Elecraft when things start getting rough next year...

That's the way I look at it. It is a romantic way to look at the alternatives of an obsolete hobby. Especially when you: 1. Have a lot of money invested in your equipment, and; 2. The assholes on 3857 kHz have said the "N" word just one too many times for the Boy Scouts visiting your ham shack. Know what I mean?
