I did my part, i voted. It's out of my hands now. The republicans have control...it's all on their backs. All we can do now is sit back, and slowly watch Rome burn.

Of course the hounds of hell are about to be unleashed, and I may not be able to talk to my mom any time soon, but it occurred to me as I drove to work today that I am even more blessed than I thought to live in Durango. Not only am I surrounded by caring, right-thinking people at work; if worse comes to worst, because I live in La Plata County, I can count on 60 percent of my neighbors to do the right thing or at least be rational. And I am at last, finally, completely, 100-percent OK with having moved here from Salt Lake.

Long story short, it's a great place to live but it's been a long, hard, expensive haul. I once told my mom I I'd move back to Utah, eventually, and while it has become less likely over the years, today I made up my mind and the guilt went away.
