I swear, Jon Stewart will be my sole comfort these next four years. His show was absolutely hilarious today - one of his best - even if there was this ever-present sadness hanging over it. The way it began - Stewart in this somewhat exagerrated but sincere sad expression, saying with some exasperation, "well, the votes are in! Weren't really any major problems... and President Bush won a clear victory... soo... we have a victor...yay (understated) for democracy...:sighs:"
The best moment was when he made fun of Bush's acceptance speech and all the "healing" and "unifying" schtick. After Bush said he's going to be a uniter, Stewart cutaway and started impersonating an abusive husband:
"I'll be good now baby. I promise. You know I still love you, baby. I didn't mean to do all those bad things I did to you. I'm sorry. You know I still love you, baby."

I think we should all pledge to watch the Daily Show every day for the next four years, and never even turn on MSNBC, CNN or Fox.

3. The healing Bush will do is apologizing to KKKarl for almost losing it. |
