1. I heard that figure too
Bush's margin with Jews was up only about 3 or 4 points.

I'm not sure how that broke down in Florida though. They were saying last night, that Kerry's margin among Jewish voters in Broward County was unexpectedly low.

4. I was with Election Protection in a heavily Jewish precinct in West
Palm Beach, and it was Kerry, Kerry all the way. Plus, every other person I met in the Campaign Headquarters, America Coming Together, and Election Protection itself was Jewish. Tales of our demise (and becoming Republican is a demise of the spirit) are greatly exagerated...

2. I only know this
I got a message on my answering machine today inviting me to an annual Holiday Party that I've been going to for a number of years. The hosts are very lovely people (Jewish, btw).

My thought when I heard the message was, "I feel like my skin has been peeled off today - what a tragedy for America" and this family is issuing holiday invitations. I guess they are happy with the result and have NO idea that not everyone shares their 'joy'. I can easily figure how they voted - and it wasn't for Kerry. "

american jews are no fools, we do have that minority of fanatic, aggressive, orthodox and fundamentalists who may go Repug. Also there is a small upper middle class west broward/palm beachy type which goes that way. I think thats from greed.
Still a small minority.

5. I know a few who confessed to me
that they were voting Repubican for the first time for only one reason even though they opposed his entire domestic agenda.

I challenged them all by asking them whether they thought Kerry would ever turn his back on Israel. None answered that they thought he would but then went back to the same crap "Bush is better" argument.

It was quite disheartening even though they were a minority of Jews that I know.
