Does this scare you?

It didn't scare them

Yes, some died, was it in vain?

These people changed a world, can you? WILL YOU? Will they scare you? I've faced this before and I WILL face it again.

As I walk through
This wicked world
Searchin’ for light in the darkness of insanity.

I ask myself
Is all hope lost?
Is there only pain and hatred, and misery?

And each time I feel like this inside,
There’s one thing I wanna know:
What’s so funny ’bout peace love & understanding?

Elvis C.

I'm Michael Harris and do I stand alone?

1. This will happen again
This time around, though, it will be factory workers, single mothers, and minorities. Welcome to the nineteenth century, again.

air conditioned/heated homes and do absolutely NOTHING. If they see fellow Americans being shot at by US govenment forces they will say, "well it's their fault for breaking the law."

In this country for white america, law enforcement is always right.

America has spoken and change is not what they want. Well, they want change but it's to go BACK to a mythical time when only whites had rights and women knew to stay at home and have kid after kid after kid.

They'll just ingest faux news and think they're right. Until they come for their son/daughter to go to Iran and N. Korea.

16. I don't, they are apathetic Xbox mamaboys and girls. They live at home
until their in the late 20's, they depend on their parents from everything to political points of views to what laundry detergent to use. The next generation is a waste of time. The Abromcrombie Generation only cares about what pair of jeans looks good walking to Civics class, if they even teach civics anymore. Look for government classes to change what can be taught now in public colleges...it's only going to get worse folks. This election was the last, who says Bush won't change the Constitution to end 2 term Presidency? I hope there is a revolution because I have no desire to get old and depend on this upcoming 'Christian' generation to stick my ass in a home to listen to fucking preachers all day...I'd rather be shot taking my country back than to resign myself to that dismal existence. I'd rather spend my eternity in HELL than one day in heaven with a fucking fundamentalist.

17. Don't give up on the youth yet
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 10:35 AM by buddyhollysghost
Yeah, some of us are shallow, apathetic slobs, just the way you described. I've known too many of those kids. But there are others, and I'm one of them. I grew up idolizing the youth of the sixties. They were my heroes, and I know I'm not alone. I've met dozens of others just like me in this campaign alone. We won't stand back, we won't stay home, and we won't shut up. And as the years go on, and more and more people wake up to what their country is becoming, we will be there, screaming at our brothers and sisters to turn off their playstations, get out of the malls, and join the fight of our generation. Maybe most of them won't listen, but the fact is that a lot will, because a lot already have. Don't lose faith in my generation yet.

On edit: posting under my Mom's username again. This is actually antigone382 :)

If there's a draft, Faux & Co will position it as "patriotic" and "anti-terrorist" and "payback for 9/11" and they'll go like sheep.

Students close campuses, block Walmarts during Christmas, march on Sundays into fundie churchs. Let us use DU to organize, stop wondering what went wrong and shut the machine down.

7. No, it doesn't
I'd rather see us go face to face like this with the enemy, and let middle America see their children getting shot by the fascist, then waiting aroung for them to take over silently through legislation and Supreme Court rulings. Hell no, it doesn't scare me. Lets bring it out to the open. Enough of backroom crap, and blackbox voting, and all their covert shit.

23. They're already shooting civilian bystanders
A college student celebrating the Boston Red Sox AL playoff victory was shot and killed last month by the Boston police.

The murder weapon was a pepper pellet gun, which was advertised as non-lethal, and used as a crowd control tool.

I may be paranoid, but I'm convinced they did this as pre-emptive pre-election intimidation.

Donations of spare tinfoil gladly accepted.

27. Actually it was a paintball gun that fired it...
similar to the type of paintball gun I own.

I'm not sure if the pepper balls are any harder to break or more solid than standard paintballs, however whenever I played paintball I always made sure to wear my goggles if not a full face mask.

Perhaps everyone should buy a pair of goggles now.
