I hugged my filly last night and forgot about politics for a while. |

my beautiful Oldenburg filly came to greet me when I went to her pasture late last night. I threw my arms around her neck and pressed my face into her warm coat. The insects buzzed and chirped in the night. An owl hooted from the nearby woods. All was right with the world.
edit: filly: female horse under 3 years old. Any other DU horse people here?

4. I don't have horses and can count on one hand the times I've been |
|
near them, but I love them. What a wonderful place to find comfort -- and you paint the scene so clearly that it comforts me, too.
What is her name?

She is a bay Oldenburg filly (a reddish bay, bay color is some shade of brown with black legs, mane and tail.) She has 3 white socks and a white star. She will be 2 years old on May 4, 2005. I will not be able to ride her until she's almost 4 years old. Her bones and joints must finish growing before they can take the stress of being ridden and worked.
She lives where she was born. We got there right after she was born and was just standing up! The mare waited for us to be gone to foal. I supported her tiny wobbly body and legs as I guided her to the barn from the pasture where she was born.
My horse = my sanity.

5. My GF has a couple of horses---both chestnuts with blazes (her favorite |
|
kind). They're like 2 big dogs. I think they'd sit on your lap if they could!

I'm sure that your friend's horses are well-loved. They sound as if they are very content which bespeaks kind treatment by their person.

Border Collies are amazing creatures. You are very lucky to share your life with your special dog. I think that they are one of the most intelligent dogs. Not to mention being very beautiful!
