Dealing with the aftermath...... |
|
Man, this is hard. I started reading and posting on DU about 2 years ago after finding it via a Google search - Anti Bush Web Sites. This forum - you posters - have helped me through many dark times (political times, that is!).....As a 48 year old progressive New Englander transplanted into North Carolina, it has been tough for my wife and I to swallow the right wing religious hypocritical craziness we've seen down here....
But the outcome of the this election - geez - sent me into quite a depression - cycling through all of the stages, really - disbelief, anger, outrage, but the overriding current feeling is emptiness and perhaps a bit of despair. I will be looking for signs of hope that this country will not continue down the hole of religious, ideological fanaticsm, hatred, intolerance.....I hope I see some, but am not holding my breath in the near term.
give me some hope, people! thanks for listening....

Give you some hope that is.
Today is worse than yesterday. I think I was in shock yesterday and today the depression is sinking in. I feel so helpless.
