This is what bugs me most about this election. People voted for Bush because they figure he hates gay people more. That is what won this election for him - the Republican party putting anti-same-sex marriage proposals on state ballots.

It wasn't only liberal_veteran who posted threads today looking for sympathy from fellow DUers. What transpired in this election was startling for most of us gay people. But please don't add your nastiness to someone's request for commiseration. It's rude and hurtful, and you trivialize someone's very real suffering in doing so.

And I'll be the first to admit that I was angered by your assertion and flew off the handle because it caught me off guard and I don't encounter people who jump to conclusions like that.

I would have hoped that after the third or forth time I explained the contradiction, you would have the decency to take me at my word. I mean really, it's not as though my explanation was implausible was it?
