If you could be a member of the other gender, or just take on one of their characteristics, would you do it and why? Or which characteristic (either physical, socially accepted norm etc.) would you adopt, and why?
I think being a girl is just a-ok, however I've always wanted to be able to pee standing up. :D

Id take the characteristic of being able to eat whatever i wanted, not having to look good all the time, be generally assholish and just sleep with everyone while getting cheered for it. Oh and id take the higher wages too

Trust me, just because I'm a guy doesn't mean I can eat whatever I want. (Well I could, but then "Hello 200 lbs!")

3. I'm not cisgender anyway... |
|
Biologically, I'm still female, but I never quite figured out this "woman" thing. Never quite figured out the "man" thing, either, but I digress. I wouldn't describe myself as "transgender," precisely, but I'm not sure if there is a word for how I consider myself. Usually I just try to phrase it as being a "conscientious objector" to gender.
Sex, on the other hand, which is biological and not performative (please don't confuse the terms), is another kettle of homosexual sticklebacks entirely... :)

Having a period? Sex discrimination? Having a**hole guys ask me out, not being able to break wind when I want, No thank you! Besides, then I'd be a lesbian and I don't want to add anti-Gay bigotry to the mix. Besides, I'd be one damn ugly woman!
Dear Dad, thanks for the Y chromosome. Love, your son. :toast:

7. yes, because we women do spend all day fondling them. |
|
If I could have one male characteristic, it'd be higher self-esteem. Women with perfect bodies starve themselves because they think they're too fat, yet men with man-boobs take off their shirt in public places and think they look awesome.

That is SO very true...sad and scary, but definitely true. Men for the most part seem to have SUCH high self esteem they feel comfortable on a beach in a speedo, complete with beer gut and hairy back. Yet I, who am just barely this side of chunky can't possibly be seen even at a family pool party without the mandatory wrap-around over surf shorts and a tankini top. Go figure!

8. I never worried about being gender appropriate |
|
I am on the feminine side of androgynous according to those tests based on your intersts or strengths. If I see something in another person that I admire, male or female, I try to incorporate that characteristic into myself. I think it is hard to be a woman sometimes. I think that many people still assume that women are less competent than men. Many men still think of women in mostly sexual terms and categorize them by women that I'd like to sleep with or women who repulse me. These things bother me sometimes. I guess that would be one advantage of being male.

9. A friend of mine had a cousin who had a sex change |
|
And he (my friend) said his cousin went from male to female and regretted it because (so I was told) she took a pay cut for doing the same work! So, I would like to be a man and get to run the world and make a dollar instead of 79 cents.

it would have to be the "opposite sex has to do work to impress me and ask me out" trait. Because, quite frankly i'm quite sick of doing all the work for nothing...

For the experience of carrying a life inside, and bringing it into the world. Sometimes I sit and wonder just what that is like, has to be incredible despite the rough parts.
But I dunno if I could endure the "drawbacks". Like being able to orgasm like a runaway freight train, but be frustrated because it rarely to never happens. Having to deal with the fact that every straight guy I would encounter, or even walk within eyesight of, judging if I was fuckable or not, then knowing they gave the act at least a few minutes thought. Having to have my guard up constantly when I'm out of the house because at any point in time some guy would try to ask me out.
Those kind of drawbacks. But if I could experience pregnancy and child birth.....I'd put up with it for awhile at least.

I may not sound like a Feminist, I consider myself one, but I must confess, I'm am so estrogen dominated. I'm moody and cyclical and and nurturing and girlyish and curvy. I love to dress up, I love to decorate my house with flowery stuff, and I like men. My "poor" husband has been rather tired lately. If I was to suddenly become a man, I'd be gay and have a lot of fun with it, but I don't think as much fun as I could have as a woman. I can't imagine being a man and being heterosexual. I can appreciate attractive women, but the don't quite have what I'm looking for.

24. Note the cyclical part too |
|
Cyclical being feast or famine and PMS (although that's been another thing Atkins helped). I think since I'm done having babies, that has helped a lot though with hormone stuff. My hubby has it good now, but it hasn't always been at this level by any means.

|
I wouldn't trade it for anything. Hee hee! You can make the porcelain sing, I swear it. SO MUCH room for creativity. And the CONVENIENCE! Oh yeah, I heard some lady was selling these little paper funnels that would allow women to pee standing up. I think it was on Oprah or something. Not that I watch Oprah. :)
