Janis Joplin helping me get through my grief...
...
you should try it...some good blues.
listen to "I Need a Man to Love Me."
Don't draw any sexual orientation conclusions, just listen to the chorus:
JJ: "No it just can't be now!"
band: "Can't be now!"
JJ: "Baby baby it just can't be now!"
Band: "Can't be now!"
and so on.
it helps, believe me.

1. Funny you should mention Janis
I just got 'Festival Express' in the mail today (with a bunch of other excellent diversions). If you're not familiar with it, it's the 1970 multi-day extravaganza that took the Dead, Janis, The Band and a bunch of other noteworthy musicians of the era on a train trip across Canada from Toronto to Vancouver, stopping to perform and partying on the train. Haven't seen it yet - but I'm excited to have something so good for a release valve.
