Seriously. Well, alright, so it was last night and I was very depressed, as I'm sure we can all understand. So I was sitting in front of the TV, watching C-SPAN and crying. I had found out about Kerry conceding in Spanish class and man, I felt like kicking something. However, even national turmoil can not stop me from making a few bucks (heh, heh). Stormi (which is an accurate name for most little girls I know) asked me whatever was the matter. I muttered something about impending doom and Dick Cheney and oh, why us? She took this in stride and asked "So the world's ending?"
"Well, maybe not that dramatic..."
"It's alright," she said. "If the world ends, we can always just move to Australia."
I sat up finally. "Australia? Why would Australia survive the Apocalypse?"
She explained to me that if Bush made a policy that forced us all to become homeless, we could move to Australia, or New Zealand, where, she pointed out, we could meet a hobbit.
Well, you can't argue with that logic. I've asked around school and a surprising number of pissed-off Minnesotans are willing to go down under. (Canada would make more sense, but it's too damn cold in Canada.)
Anyway, the point is, anyone else looking into foreign exchange programs? Maybe Spain or France, because I have a layman's grasp of the languages or England or SOMEWHERE. Any patriotism I've had over the last few months has dwindled to almost nothing, and I've heard that tuition in Spain is very cheap.
Anyone else considering that route?
