No, Yavin, nycliberal and NightwindX haven't vandalized the field. It's being dug up to put in a new drainage system and Centerfield2005 seating.

1. EEEEEK! You scared the hell out of me with that pic

Going into Fenway used to be a great experience, walking though those blocks and blocks of grey granite tenements and office buildings, going through the gate, and coming onto the bright emerald of the grass in the stadium. I hate to see it torn up like that.

Of course, living on Park Drive a couple of blocks away from Fenway wasn't much fun during the season when the suburbanites would try to park and choke the neighborhood with cars that didn't belong there.

However, it's still a part of Boston that I miss sorely.

2. I lived on Queensberry and then Peterborough for a while...

Couldn't move my car the day of a game...would never get a spot.

Although one of my apartments was on a top floor corner....at night I could read using only the lights from Fenway...and I could hear the announcer and crowd.
