Another meme we dems need to start: using the term "activist judges"
If the repubs can use the term "activist" for any judge that follows the Constitution, then we should be able to use it, too.

Our leadership, and we bitch about this all the time, I know, but our leadership needs to start using the same language and bullshit that the rightwinger America-haters use. Throw it right back at them.

Why do we continue to let them define the terms of debate?

Don't say bullshit like "Well, we don't think he's qualified pursuant to his judgments pertaining to . . . yada yada yada".

Say: "We're not going to appoint an activist judge."

Don't say bullshit like "Well, we feel that his understanding of basic constitutional freedoms is underdeveloped, and so we cannot support this bill..."

Say: "This legislation is the legislation of an America-hater"

Don't say bullshit like "He tried to reduce the funding for the equipment that our troops need to fight this war, and we feel that is wrong - we support our troops, and want them to have what they need, so we're voting against his bill . . . "

Say "He supports our troops dying like cowards"

1. How about radical anti-american judges?
The freaks * will name don't believe in the Constitution in general and the Bill of Rights in particular. They're theocrats, pure and simple.

3. That would also work - radical is a great word to make use of
instills fear, that's for sure.

maybe we can also use the words "unbiblical" and "anti-Jesus"

It wuold be especially cool for the democrats to start using the religion language against the rightwing jesus-hating sect.

6. We absolutely HAVE to start using the religion language
and start talking about how Jesus is all about compassion, justice, love, and for the poor and disenfranchised, how Jesus is non-violent, etc.

7. Absolutely! I plan on doing this however I can.
And I know my Bible well enough to do so. Unfortunately, the memory ain't what it used to be, but I think I'll also try to memorize select scriptural passages.

If you can memorize the Sermon on the Mount, that's a good start. Lots of good stuff in there.

Luke 6 - which is the better version of the Sermon on the Mount, because it has all the woes as well.

Luke 6:20-49
Then he looked up at his disciples and said:
"Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
<21> "Blessed are you who are hungry now,
for you will be filled.
"Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh.
<22> "Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man. <23> Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for surely your reward is great in heaven; for that is what their ancestors did to the prophets.
<24> "But woe to you who are rich,
for you have received your consolation.
<25> "Woe to you who are full now,
for you will be hungry.
"Woe to you who are laughing now,
for you will mourn and weep.
<26> "Woe to you when all speak well of you, for that is what their ancestors did to the false prophets.
<27> "But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, <28> bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. <29> If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. <30> Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. <31> Do to others as you would have them do to you.
<32> "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. <33> If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. <34> If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again. <35> But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. <36> Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
<37> "Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven; <38> give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back."
