Anyone Ever See The Movie About Evangelists Called "Elmer Gantry"? |
|
with Burt Lancaster (I had a major crush on him when little).
All this talk about Evangelism made me think of this movie which played on TV right before the election.
Burt Lancaster plays a con-man preacher who knows how to thump a bible and also how to play politics.

Sinclair Lewis should be read by ALL progressives. "Elmer Gantry" and "It Can't Happen Here" especially.

5. Yes. It's a truly great film, and a very important one |
|
It's about the politics of organized religion, and about true spirituality. A fascinating film, and still very relevant.
