Email exchange btween me and a "moral-voting" repug... |
|
On the Bible/Prayer in schools. Just a couple of thoughts:
1. A little praying goes a long way.
2. I believe that the moral foundation in this country is crumbling. Many reasons mind you, one of the many reasons is I believe that minority liberal folks are trying to force their beliefs on everyone as you have stated.....is that right? Finally, people are taking a stand (i.e. most states have already slammed gay marriages on this last ballot). Also you may have read that an atheist in CA. (go figure) tried to have the words (under god) removed from the pledge of allegiance????? It was turned down.....I think people are just getting tired of the minority weirdo's trying to have thier way with our country. Therefore......MAJORITY RULES......gotta love democracy........
3. Iraq is a separate issue and would love to chat about it if you like. To be honest, there are a few more countries we need to invade. At least America is taking a stand. I just wish the rest of the countries would realize that pacifism didn't work 60 years ago and it cost the world over 10 million people. When will they learn? Do you feel safe with your children especially after the horrific images in Russia?
3. Bush carried Montana........
Love ya girl.......
My Response:
We'll agree to disagree. I know the country seemed to vote for "morals". I voted for tangible things. I guess my point for the email was to ask to please not send those kinds of emails. You can send them to XX's work email - he doesn't mind them as much as I do. It's been a really bad last couple of days - I'm sure you would have felt the same if Kerry won. I really really do not want to sever friendships over this, hell, half my relatives vote repubican. Of course, they are all of "outstanding moral fiber" (roll eyes). Oh, and MT elected a Democrat for Govenor. And to address your points:
#1. That's very true! I have nothing against praying (do it myself) - just be careful what you wish for bringing the Government in on it.
#2. The Pledge NEVER originally had "under God" in it (wasn't until the 1950's during a little period of American history known as "McCarthyism"). I agree this is a senseless thing to fight against, I have no problem with it - just bringing up a point.
#3. I'll hope and pray you don't get sent over to fight these wars. My brother's a Captain in the Army Guard and most of his guard buddies who came back from Iraq voted for Kerry, as did he.
OH and Rick - it was YOUR daughter who showed me your collection of "tapes" - LOL!! See you've been enjoying some of those "liberal beliefs" yourself <<wink>>.
Love ya back,

That is so abhorrent it is beyond words. Maybe you love this person, and if so I am sorry, but she needs to go live in Iraq for a while and see what these people are going through.
What give us the *%4$## right to invade any other country (jeez it's so easy to get me started)
