Is seltzer water harmful?
I gave up pop because of all the sugar and phosphoric acid (it WILL eat your teeth!)
But now I like Faygo flavoured soda water. No sugar, no "Nutrasweet", just fizz and flavour.

Too good to be true. Somebody please tell me that drinking a quart a day of this stuff is not gonna make my gallbladder get as big as a football or something...

3. No, I've switched to flavored seltzers
Edited on Mon Sep-15-03 01:58 PM by supernova
this summer to avoid all the sugary sodas. I go through a litre of seltzer every day.

edit: no sugar, no calories, no artifical sweetners. I'm drinking a cherry flavored seltzer as I type.

edit2: Seltzer is also dirt cheap. I can usually find it on sale for .50/litre.

7. My husband and I go through about 6 2-liter bottles
of Schweppes Cherry seltzer water a week. For awhile our grocery store stopped carrying it and we were miserable. It is really refreshing and not sugary at all.

9. Refreshing
when I got sick earlier in the summer and had to be really conscience of my fluid intake, after a year on atkins I found I could no longer stomach the straight fruit juices and sodas. Overpoweringly sweet, they left me feeling thirsty rather than refreshed.

So I rediscovered my love for mineral water, but that does get expensive. That's when I settled on seltzer as a good compromise. I still get the fizz and I do feel like I've had something to drink.

I usually get the house store brand or the Vintage brand of seltzer. My grocery store alternates having them on sale.

just natural fruit flavors.

6. Actually I've heard that carbonated water
Can leach calcium from your bones. My nephews run cross country and that's what their coach told them. Maybe someone else can enlighten me on this. Faygo? You must be in MI!

15. Our tap water BUILDS bone. I drink that, too...
If the rock that builds up in my Mr. Coffee and shower head is any indication, I could sell the stuff from my tap as "mineral water"...

I'll look into that. My High School coach used to tell us that sex would make us too weak to compete...

11. go cold turkey - switch to water
After a few days off the carbonated/flavored concoctions, water tastes better than anything. Way healthier & cheaper, too.

14. Look out for some 'flavored waters'
like aquafina essentials. These are "lightly sweetened" which in my opinion make them taste really nasty. But then again I don't like paying for aquafina in general. If you read the label it is just tap water thats been treated with a reverse osmosis system and sold at $1/bottle.

I drink about a liter of carbinated poland springs/day. Much better than soda. If I want something sweet I just mix it with fruit juice.

Fizz Fizz
