Pokemon gave me epilepsy
I had never watched Pokemon before, and I know the fad is kind of over but I was really curious to see what all the fuss was about, so bought the DVD set of all of the Pokemon episodes -- and not the dubbed versions, but the original Japanese ones with subtitles and letterboxing with director commentary tracks on certain episodes. So there are like 500 episodes and I wanted to see them all this last weekend so I got in my pajamas and sat right next to the screen because I didn't want my mom to hear me watching it because a Japanese soldier killed her father in the war and she doesn't like hearing those voices, it makes her go apeshit. Anyway, so it's like 53 hours into my Pokemon marathon and all I've had to eat or drink was Jolt cola and Captain Crunch cereal without the milk, and there is this fight between the big one with the lightning bolts and the little tiny snake guys who crawl out of the box and do the ninja star thing, and the screen starts flashing and the next thing I know my mother is standing over me and has a belt in my mouth to keep me from chewing my tongue off.

This week at work has been kind of hard because I want to go back and see how that fight ends pretty bad. Has anyone else had any experiences like this? Oops I just drank some chocolate milk and it came out my nose.

1. that happened to several hundred japanese kids...
When an episode first aired, there was a sequence with rapidly changing colors that caused several hundred japanese kids to have epilepsy attacks.
