But that's what happens when you fall in love.
BTW, thanks again to you and Bat Boy for picking up the check on Friday. You guys are the coolest people I know.
I'm gettin' the next one. I insist.

Though after we got home and settled in to watch a movie, the dog(no, I'm not referring to Michael) and I heard some unusual noises outside and found a guy trying to break into the basement apartment right under our stairs. He'd pulled their window air-conditioner out while they were in their bedroom.
Stupid me, I chase the guy to get a better look (I only saw his back as he was running out the front gate), but he disappeared so quick that I wasn't really able to describe him. So I ended up spending the rest of the night with our freaked out downstairs neighbor (he only managed to steal her purse, missing the laptop computer sitting right next to it) and Chicago's finest. Luckily, she didn't have any cash in her purse and the thief dumped the credit cards in the alley across the street. They even managed to get a fingerprint off of the air conditioner.
Well, at least they won't be complaining about the dog barking anymore. :-)

3. And where was Bat Boy while all this was happening? |
|
Cowering under the bed, trying not to spill his Guinness?
Sounds like an exciting evening. How I miss living in the city. Truly.

5. Oh, I got all testosterony.... |
|
I got on the scooter and rode through the alley looking for the guy.
Like I had the slightest notion what the hell I'd do if I found him. It was a case of involunary muscle reaction with any input from the brain.

8. Sorry, didn't mean to imply you weren't there |
|
Michael actually spent a lot of time calming down our downstairs neighbor. Which is a lot more than her boyfriend (who is living with her and was there, mind you) could manage to do. He just stood around looking confused and never said one word to the police. Strange.

7. Living on cloud nine :-) |
|
I'm a newly wed and well.... blush
I have been around reading LBN posts trying to catch up from living in a wedding planning daze for months. I've been reading more than writing posts and haven't had time for the lounge. Sorry I missed your post.
Are you planning any Chicago get-togethers?
I've missed you. What has been happening? How's mkuhl? I really hope things slow down enough that I can take his class.
I have to run. I'll try to catch up with you tomorrow.
Peace, Gina

9. I was wondering what happened to you |
|
You didn't show up at the last gathering, what happened? I can't believe you're already married! Congratulations!!!
Hopefully, we'll do another get together soon. I'm out of work at the moment (quit my job in a fit of exasperation), so I'm spending most of my resources looking for a new job. Know anyone who'd hire a 38 year old former banquet manager with some office skills, but a killer personality and work ethic? :-)

when the last gathering was, so I don't know what happened. Probably family obligations. I knew going in that marrying Mr. Bacon Man meant marrying his family. I didn't estimate correctly the amount of time I would dedicate to family gatherings. I'm sure you know all about it.
I'd love to see all of you. Too bad there's not another Rolling Thunder or Michael Moore book signing or protest we could all work on.
Sorry you are out of work. I will keep my eyes and ears open for opportunities for you. How about wedding planner? Would you be interested in starting your own wedding event planning business? Having just been through it and having used a planning service for some of the wedding, I think you would be ideal for this type of work. Your knowledge of food and wine and restaurants in Chicago give you a unique advantage. Your killer personality banquet manager experience and work ethic make you easy to work with.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you
Mrs. GinaMaria

I've never been on Cloud Nine. I hear it's nice. ;-) You deserve every happiness that you can find. Hopefully, we can all get together soon and we can meet him. My best to you and the mister. :hi:
