SURF CONTROL - ACCESS DENIED
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 10:42 AM by rocknation
"If you have a legitimate business reason for accessing this site, please contact accessweb @ xxxxx.com."

That's the message I got when I tried to come here. It also came up when I tried to access my own site and most of my other favorities (which are either politcal or sex-drugs-and-rock-and-roll oriented). Couldn't get to AirAmerica, either. Tried to call the help desk but the line was busy, so at least I knew it wasn't personal.

I called my boss, and she was REALLY pissed because she was doing a computer demo in a meeting and got the same message. Retribution was intense and company-wide. I'm pleased to report that in less half an hour, the attempted coup was crushed. Not a good thing to try when so many of us are pissed about the election. May this be the first of many revolutions during the new Bush empire!

1. Update

A very apologetic memo has gone around, assuring us it was a technical error and not something that was being planned--which I tend to believe because it even took management surprise. It should be up to management to decide who in their departments should have how much Internet access anyway. And since I work in the department that creates/maintains online info/training for a national franchise/sales force, I think I am now in the clear. I feel like one of those guys who threw the tea into the Boston Harbor!

2. Yeah they did something like that here
I can get Air America about half the time. So far DU has not been stopped (knock on wood) but then I am real chummy with the IT guys and if it was stopped I would get it put right back on.
