Have any good movies come out in the last month? |
|
I'm sure, like so many of you, I've been so overwhelmed with campaign work that I have neglected my family, my friends, my pets, and my home. I'd like to take it easy this weekend, while staying away from the news. Please suggest ONLY GOOD quality movies. 3 stars and above.

2. The Incredibles = getting rave reviews! And we saw... |

Ray which is pretty darn good. Highly recommended. Jamie Foxx is going to get an Oscar nomination at least.
For later (in Nov, I think) I'm looking forward to Spacey as Bobby Darin.

5. Looooooved Shaun of the Dead. |

Saw it twice. Funnier than should be legally allowed, and proof that Brits are smarter than us (especially if Blair gets fired next election).

it's the name of a great live music venue here in New Orleans.
Check it out if you're ever in town. Just wait till I get my avatar back.

Great reviews--directed by Alexander Payne, who also directed Election and Citizen Ruth.

8. End of the Century, Nobody Knows and Primer |
|
The first is the Ramones documentary, and it is great. Nobody Knows is a Japanese drama about a woman who abandons her kids and is not for the leaping-from-ledges inclined, and the latter is a very strange and likeable low budget film about two guys who accidentally invent a time machine.
And I hear The Incredibles is incredible.
