Soup, Soup Nothing but Soup--Ask me anything about Soup |
|
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 01:52 PM by Wubette
I've been ill since Monday with the crud and I have been on a major Soup Jag. Since then, I've made Chicken Noodle, Beef Vegetable, and I'm working on a killer Vegetable Stock right now. I'm thinking a Creamy curried Spinach soup for dinner.
Thank God for freezers- I have enough now to last me to Valentines Day.

1. A nice blue state New England Cod Chowder for this Red State Girl |

Good fresh cod, cut up potatoes, fresh milk, bacon bits, an onion and a couple of good russet potatoes.

My mother in law use to live on the Cape and I had some of the best Chowder in my life there. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the joint we always went to but it was so thick and creamy your spoon almost stood up-right in the bowl.
I've never had Cod Chowder-but sounds wonderful

I'm thinking of making a lima bean the way mom used to make it. We might be getting snow again and that would hit the spot.
Feel better! You must be doing better with a creamy curried spinach on today's menu.

4. Nothing better than soup when it's frosty outside |

Bean soup is very warming. I love it with lots of fresh cracked black pepper and Rye Bread.
