It all started when another coworker saw that article about the county with 600 voters that gave 4,000-something votes to * and felt obliged to share. I threw in lots of other interesting facts (and debunked a few ones, like that USA Presidents "IQ comparison" that's widely believed here).
The Warren O'Dell thing (among others) generated a lot of :wtf:s.
It hurts me to say this, but your country's image is in the gutter. Most people here extract a smug satisfaction from that, but I don't. You deserve better.

We the USA have bragged to the world for many years about being a democracy. We've tried to force it on others. It's really quite obvious to the world we can't do it ourselves.
Do we deserve better? Only if we are ready to fight for it. Most US citizens aren't even willing to face facts about what's going on.
