I met Dick while volunteering for the Kerry campaign in Pennsylvania. He and his husband, Joe, came down from Massachusetts and gave a MONTH of their time to help Kerry win this state. He is a great guy, a terrific new friend, and a very good writer. His "Donald Strachey" novels are one of the only detective series to feature a gay detective. The series is being made into a TV movie by the soon to launch gay network ("Here", I think?)

Please check these books out. You will be entertained by a devoted Dem.

2. Haven't read his books in particular, but there's another

series with a gay detective, David Brandstetter, authored by Joseph Hansen, which hit the mainstream about 15-20 years ago.

Anyway, I'll keep my eye out.
