Christmas gifts will be bought from Blue States only this year |
|
I have decided that my money only goes to people that believe in clean air, true moral values, the working class, and everything else we voted for.
I don't know about you but I gave more money this election than I have ever in my whole life. Now I will only give to support those who believe in real freedom. We have the power of money in CA and New York. We should use it!
So online, all the magazines from the middle states, sorry, not this year...my money stays here in my state that had the guts to vote for the right man.
(Okay guys I'm still a little, okay a lot bitter)

1. That is an excellent idea. |
|
I was thinking about not buying any Christmas gifts at all.
I live in Illinois. I can shop at local stores ONLY, from people I know are Democrats. I can buy things in the Chicago area that are not associated with national chains.
How about Target? Did they support Democrats?
I think this is a better idea than a total boycott. Buy from blue states only.

suggested used items also. There are many 2nd hand shops (over and above GW and SA), as well as items in local papers, and there is always E-bay (I don't know their political affliation, though...would someone please clue me in on that?). Of course, there is always homemade, which is the way I go most of the time anyway.

We managed to make New Hampshire turn blue, and I will go ahead and boycott those other sons of b**ches every chance I get.
There is no healing, not yet. Let us hae our bitterness, we were robbed again, this time without a paper trail.

research the companies and make sure they did not give money to the GOP
Moreover, make sure they are truly local
I may add, for gifts, go to an antique shop and get antiques for friends, or from co-ops, DO NOT buy from the major corps
Find your lcoal co-ops and mon and pop stores, so you will pay a tad more, but you know what enough of us do this... it will make a difference
Oh and if you can... DON'T spend ANY money during the holidays and if you have to... DO NOT put it in them cute credit cards.
You are right, we need to use our economic power to drive the point home to the corporations, we are not gonna take it anymore.

6. So what you're saying is that |
|
If a state went for bushco everyone in that state is a freeper? That seems a bit silly to me. I agree with your sentiment, but this isn't really the way to get things done IMHO.

Find your local dem owned businesses, and patronize them
STOP patronizing the Corps.
By the way you think the Right Wing (in particular fundies) don't do this?
So fiind your local business in Red States owned by democrats and progressives adn suport them. Forget JC Penney, or large food conglomerates, go for the mom and pop

19. No it does not make you a fundie - you are a fundie |
|
if you twist scripture to suit your own needs. Fundies are anit-abortion, but pro war and pro death penalty. They think homosexuality is a "lifestyle choice" and that gays actually try to recruit others into the fold. They have other twisted notions, but those are a few of their major talking points.
If you are a born again Christian in the way Philip Yancy is born again, then you are not a Fundie. By the way, if you've never read "what's so amazing about grace," - I highly recommend it and also, "the Jesus I never knew." That man is a Christian in the way Jesus taught -

Huzzah for online shopping. I'm not going to put any more money into the US economy than I absolutely HAVE to. Red state, blue state...makes no difference to me. Especially when you consider that any business, no matter where located, still has to pay Federal taxes.

12. Economic boycott is the key.. |
|
.. talk and soul searching is great, but the only way to break corporate control of our lives is to hit 'em in the bottom line. Sure, it will cause some pain, but it's necessary..

On the list of who to boycott but was discussing it with another D.U.er. Sounds like a good idea....this election should of left the Democrats with a bitter taste for supporting anything Rep. I know it has for me. Right down to my once dinner guests for Thanksgiving. No more Mrs. Nice guy.
