I just thought I had to share this with y'all, because I'm absolutely ecstatic about tonight. It's the first time I've been happy in months.
Ok, so today in marching band the middle school kids came to play with us. My friend is my former band teacher, who, unlike my parents, always was there for me to let me vent. I hadn't seen him in months, and since he's a Republican, and considering this week's events, I didn't exactly look forward to him rubbing it in my face. But I misunderestimated him.
He asked me how I was, I said pretty miserable, and he understood. A kid next to me asked who he voted for, and it took us both a while to get it out of him. He didn't vote for Bush, Kerry, or an libertarian or independent. He voted for Nader, which in retrospect wouldn't do a thing, since we live in California. He then went on to bash RIGHT-WING CHRISTIAN RADICALS (which considering he owns a book by Billy Graham, I thought he was one) on how they got Bush that extra 3.5 million votes, because radicals in those states voting on gay marriage didn't want those to pass, and by the way, dropped Bush a vote.
Also, last year I got him "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them", and he loved it so much, he's going to read "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot"! I'm absolutely giddy.
