Anyone see tonight's "Real Time with Bill Maher"?
ALAN SIMPSON IS A JACKASS. That's all I have to say. Did you see him? I mean JESUS!

1. yup, watching it now...
ugh...he's usually reasonable. But actually, Bill can rub people the wrong way--I think the "only 2 gay people in Wyoming" thing set him off. Susan Sarandon is really sharp, though...

2. holy shit yes.
what a fool. He actually thought bill was making fun of him silently to the audience when they were cheering his position in support of gays & lesbians. he was bucking for a fight before he even came on air.

how about Chomsky?

why do republican's have a problem with complex thought? It is possible to believe that Bush was immoral and committed war crimes by invading Iraq, and still believe that Saddam was a really bad guy. I have the capability to see that he could have been removed from power by other means that pre-emptive strike. someday Bush will have to answer to someone for his actions. I just wish it had been Tuesday.

6. I have been thinking about Senator Simpson
He's always been a sourpuss, but not crazy acting. Tonight's performance signals to me that their side is really feeling their oats now. They've gone after gays, now it's time for them to complete their attack on "Hollywood's elite".

5. Bill's a smart guy
Just remember Democrats don't own him, so don't expect everything out of his mouth to be something along those lines.

8. it sucks that they're going on another HUGE hiatus. They should find
people to fill in for him if he needs a 6 month vacation. There are certainly more than enough people in LA who could take turns at hosting it. I doubt his whole crew/staff is against working during the winter and spring.

10. He really did have a chip on his shoulder from the moment he went
on the air. The cheering from the crowd just infuriated him. Did he think Bill was making faces at him to amuse the audience? Bill can taunt with the best of them, but this time he was actually trying to be respectful. But being a comedian, he can't be expected to not be a smartass, now can he?

Simpson really only made himself look like a paranoid freak by going on the attack so quickly. He had a chance to have a good interview about politics, but instead he attacked Bill and the audience. It's ironic that it's wrong for Hollywood to mock conservatives, but it's OK to say nasty things about liberals... :eyes:
