2. did you know that there's a guy |
|
whose life's work is the finding of all the 'lost' snippets of the original movie, which I saw when it came out in Cinerama theater in Philly?
It was originally, I think, almost 4 hours long, and supposedly there was a print which was even longer.

9. Don't forget Edie Adams |
|
She played Sid Caesar's wife and in real life is the magnificent Ernie Kovacs widow.
And amongst the cameeos and other small parts, Don Knotts, Carl Reiner and Arnold Stang.

Edie Adams is on the screen as I'm typing this.
BTW - Spencer Tracy's wife (the nagging voice on the telephone) - was that Selma Diamond?

I also forgot Jerry Lewis amongst the cameos. Guess I may have to pull out the DVD when I get home and give it a re watch.

14. Edie Adams Must Have Made This Film Right After Ernie Kovacs Died |
|
When he died in a car crash in 1962, he left Edie with huge debts, largely from gambling. That's when she started doing those Muriel cigar commercials, to pay off Ernie's debts.
