Had to talk tough to my friend last night... |
|
A Bisexual female who told me Thursday she voted for Bush. She told me he thought he would be better on security. I couldent help my self I just started yelling at her " So you would rather be shoved back into the closet! Besides John Edwards has a plan to inspect more cargo that comes into this country, plus Kerry was responsable for putting 10,000 policemen on the streets! Then I ended my rant with the class Ben Franklen quote " Those who choose security over freedom should be entitled to neither"

Somebody please explain to me how the man on whose watch 9/11 happened because of his clearly documented criminal negligence, is the go-to candidate for national security!!!

9. Because nobody stood up and said the Emperor had no clothes |

From the primaries the Dems should have been beating the "Asleep at the wheel" drum, but they refused. They refused to step up and say Iraq made no sense in the war on terror(which assumes that the war on terror makes sense), and that the evidence was manufactured by the administration. They refused to beat the drum that the Bush administration illegally pulled resources from Afghanistan to prepare for Iraq before the case was made. The party refused to stand up to the administration and they refused to stand up to the media. They refused to stand up to the Patriot Act. They refused to stand up to the nomination of Goss. They refused to stand up to partisan influences running our elections, proving they learned nothing from 2000. They refused to stand up for us, and we're going to pay.
We need to take out the Democrats that won't stand up for us in the primaries, but we will probably be forced to stick with strong DINO incumbents rather than risk even more seats. Now we're even further behind, and risk the loss of the filibuster if we lose more ground. We need some fire and teeth in the red and purple states. I think most red states would respect a Democrat that stood up to the Republicans and articulated the reasons. At this point, an Dem can run as an "anti-politician" and an anti-government candidate. The Republicans got alot of votes because they are perceived as strong, but Republicans are the corporate party. Republicans ARE big government. Republicans have grown government and spent more than anyone. Republicans are the "Do as I say, not as I do" party. They need to be called out.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope to hell the Democrats in Congress finally start speaking their minds, even though they're the minority. I hope people like us, out in America, quit pussyfooting around people who think patriotism is being about to shout louder than someone just to make sure that someone's ideas will not be heard.
I'm tired of the accepting and tolerating Democrats have been doing, when it's not at all deserved. I'm pissed that the Republicans managed to score the big one right out from under us and cop the market on "patriotism," when the reality is that 9/11 happened because GWB fucked it up.
I just want people like us to start yelling louder than the other ones, only I want our shouted words to be the plain, unvarnished truth.

That's why he won on "moral values". Critical thinking people know this guy is incapable of protecting us. I fully expect to get hit again....and they will assume that the MV people will flock to their Maximum Leader once again.

7. It is so far beyond me ... |
|
how anyone with a marble in their head could have voted for * on a security issue with all the 9/11 Commission information, with the widows speaking out about *'s policies, with the areas that were actually attacked coming out overwhelmingly in favor of Kerry. You can't tell me that just because those areas lean democratic anyway, that they would sacrifice their security to toe the party line if * was doing such a great fucking job of protecting them. I don't mean to insult your friend - but either she is not so gay that the discrimination about to be written in to the constitution will effect her ... or she is not so straight that the threat of overturning Roe vs. Wade will. My guess is that she has absolutely no clue about any of it.
