Philly Area, South Jersey, Northern DE folks check in - hope you're all ok |
|
Watching the news and there is some major flooding in the area. The road I take to visit my best friend (Marshellton DE) is absolutely destroyed by flood waters.
Bush is in Delaware County (suburb of Philly), maybe the flood waters will drag him away <sigh>, we can only hope!

4. I Remember a Lot of Hurricanes in Jersey |
|
Especially Donna in 1960 and Camille in 1971. Fortunately, I grew up outside Morristown, which was about 300 feet above sea level. We had street flooding and downed trees - lower-lying areas got hit much harder.

5. My back yard is like a sponge |
|
It goes squidge-squidge when I try to walk on it.
My driveway is like a river.
There's water running across my basement floor.
But all of that is pretty normal -- they don't call this area the Great Swamp for nothing.
I'm just keeping my fingers cross for two-three days from now.

9. Milk & Bread shelfs cleared at Acme - must be a storm coming |
|
I usually pick up groceries on Monday since that's my day off and boy was the grocery store PACKED. The bread shelf was half bare, you couldn't find a loaf of white bread anywhere (I don't each much bread but when I buy a loaf it's Oat Nut). The Water shelf was bare and there wasn't much of a milk choice left.
The storm is a-coming!

Although chemical plants, rising waters, and a giant tree standing next to my house have me somewhat concerned.
I'm convinced that the Armageddon-like feeling in Delaware today (particularly near Marshalton) were due to Bush's evil presence in the region.
