1. There's this stuff I've seen on tv commercials...
...don't know if it works though.

Maybe your eyewear store can buff the lenses for you.

5. I'm sure the big chain outlets are open on Sundays.
:hi: It has been a hell of a week. We'll get through it somehow though.

7. I've seen that same stuff on sale
There's an "as sold on TV" place in our local farmer's market. The stuff goes there for $15 a kit. I don't know if it works, and $15 seems a bit pricey just to find out, but if anyone has experience with it, I'd be interested.

2. There's super-fine abrasive sandpaper that can.
As long as you don't have anti-reflective coatings, etc. on them.

Check with your optometrist or maybe even a high-end photography store.

4. I've heard toothpaste can fix small shallow scratches
cause it grinds down the glass when you rub it in. But there are more "professional" products out there to do the same thing. as long as you don't have some special coating on it.

6. Sadly, when my son's lenses were scratched because his
DUMBASS kindergarten teacher punished him by making him stand outside with his nose against a brick wall, we couldn't salvage the lenses, and I had to buy new lenses.

Maybe your scratches aren't as bad as his. Go to the place where you bought your eyeglasses...maybe they can do something, if they are honest.

11. I hate to admit it,
but I'm on a fixed income, and lived 164 miles from the VA hospital where I might have gotten some new ones - so I took some of that CD/DVD scratch repair liquid, squirted it on, buffed it off, and it worked perfectly.

Of course, as the saying goes, YMMV.

13. No.
They'll always be scratched. If you use an abraisive to hide the scratch, you'll alter the lens. Suck it up, get a new lens, and be more careful. Either that, or get used to the scratch.
