A friend says I talk in a more aggressive tone these days. |
|
Mainly about politics. Though he is a Democrat too and is very angry about things and dislikes Bush. He is also rediscovering Christianity after having gone through what I am going through with it. But the thing is, who could blame me for being more aggressive in my tone? Especially now? These people have taken over our country.

1. There's nothing wrong with being aggressive |
|
And don't let anyone tell you different. All it means is that you're not afraid to feel.

2. Yes, Bushco and the Right Wing Radicals have Taken.... |

over our country and there is NOTHING Christian about them. Hence, the web traffic for info on immigrating to Canada and New Zealand. They've stolen our country and our taxes.

6. I was never into politics... |
|
...but over the last 2 years I've started watching FOX a lot more. Now my step daughter (10) sometimes asks me "are you going to watch TV tonight?", "why" I ask, "cuz it's funny watching you yell at it".
I never used to do that LOL.

8. A piece of unsolicited advice from one who's been there. YMMV |

I'm female so this may be different for you.
When I first became involved in politics many, many... a lot of years ago, I had several "friends," family members and acquaintances tell me I was becoming more aggressive. As time went by I noticed that these same people usually said this when I was acting in any way contrary to their idea of how a "good girl" should act. It made *them* uncomfortable and it was as though they were trying to get me to behave in such a way that didn't "threaten" them. There's a whole psychological thing about this I won't go into here.
The short version is: when *they* were uncomfortable they expected me to make them more comfortable by conforming to their standards.
It was a subtle way to silence me and get me to conform.
As I said, your mileage may vary.
My 0.02.
Oh, and by the way, it didn't work. I cut loose those people who would silence me or expect me to become compliant.

you're right.
Also, my boss (a repug) told me a few weeks ago that I seemed "stressed" and "tense". NO SHIT!

10. Yeah, it's an amazingly subtle put down to make you self |
|
conscious about feeling and/or about saying anything *they* don't like. It's used to invalidate the person.
Very effective, by the way. It's been used against many people who refused to be boxed into "the norm."
