Help! My Inbox emptied itself !
I'm using Outlook Express and did a system restore to yesterday and the messages are not there either.

What can I do?

5. If you prefer not paying for things
you could download Mozilla Thunderbird, or the whole Mozilla suite (for a web browser too) from

http://www.mozilla.org

3. This is an obvious question
but did you go to your other folders, such as trash to see if the emails are there?

All it takes if so is to just move them back to the inbox.

7. Hope this heps:
http://www.pchell.com/support/restoreoe.shtml

Odds are yer stuff is backed up somewhere. This article assumes it's in a folder called "backup," and I dunno if that's something OE does on its own, but it would make sense given the "ease-of-use" principle behind most windows stuff.

9. Thank you all
I just spent an hour on the phone with a microsoft tech.
After many "try this" instuctions, he concluded that the inbox messages are nowhere on my computer. He said that I was probably viewing a message with a virus when this occured.
He refunded the $35 fee for the service that I had to pay for in advance of the call.

Thankfully, I'm still receiving new messages.

11. If you haven't rebooted your computer
try that. I did a restore and lost everything, messages, address book, etc. Once I rebooted the computer it all magically returned.
